Section 80C
A part of the tax law that lets you lower your taxable income with certain savings.
Example. Investing ₹1.5 lakh in approved options can cut the income you are taxed on.
Section 80C lets you reduce your taxable income by up to ₹1.5 lakh a year, if you put that money into approved options like EPF, PPF, ELSS funds, or life insurance. It applies under the old tax system, so check which system fits you.
