Invested Gains

This is an illustration to show how compounding works, not advice or a forecast. It assumes a steady return compounded monthly, which real markets never deliver. Returns are not guaranteed, and costs and taxes will reduce the final figure. Learn the idea in the complete mutual funds and SIP guide.

How this is calculated

Your monthly amount is grown at the return you enter, compounded every month, for the full period. With a step-up, the monthly amount rises by that percentage at the end of each year. A starting lump sum is invested on day one and compounds monthly at the same return. The gain is simply the final value minus everything you put in.

Questions people ask

How does this SIP calculator work?

It grows your monthly investment at the return you enter, compounded monthly, for the number of years you choose. If you set a step-up, the monthly amount rises by that percentage each year. It then shows what you put in, the estimated final value, and the estimated gains.

Is the return guaranteed?

No. The return is an assumption you choose, used only to show the shape of the outcome. Real mutual fund returns move up and down and are never guaranteed. Treat every number here as an illustration, not a promise.

What is a step-up SIP?

A step-up SIP raises your monthly amount automatically each year, often in line with your salary. Even a small annual increase changes the final figure a lot over many years.

Can I calculate a SIP plus a lump sum together?

Yes. Enter a starting lump sum along with your monthly SIP. The lump sum is invested on day one and grows at the same return for the whole period, while the SIP adds money every month. The result shows both together.
