Term insurance
Cheap protection for your family
Term insurance is the simplest kind of life cover. You pay a small yearly premium, and if you die during the term, your family gets a large fixed amount. If you outlive the term, you get nothing back, and that is exactly why it is so cheap.
The rupee example. A healthy person in their late 20s can often get ₹1 crore of cover for roughly ₹800 to ₹1,200 a month. For that small cost, if something happens to you, your family gets ₹1 crore to stay afloat.
Keep insurance and investment separate. Plans that promise cover plus returns usually give you weak cover and weak returns. Buy cheap term cover for protection, and invest the rest on its own. You mainly need this once someone depends on your income.
This is general education, not financial advice. Premiums vary by age, health, and insurer.
